.. Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to extend the benefits of G.O.(2D). No.64 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 08.08.2019 and G.O.(2D).No.68 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 27.08.2019 by regularising the services of the petitioners on completion of 3 years of service from the date of their original appointment with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time-frame as deem fit and proper by this Hon'ble Court. O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to extend the benefits of G.O.(2D). No.64 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 08.08.2019 and G.O.(2D).No.68 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 27.08.2019 by regularising the services of the petitioners on completion of 3 years of service from the date of their original appointment with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time-frame as deem fit and proper by this Hon'ble Court.

2. The case of the petitioners is that they were appointed in the erstwhile Panchayat Union and were absorbed in Greater Chennai City Corporation on account of merger of the Panchayat with Chennai Corporation. Persons working along with the petitioners have been granted regularization on completion of 3 years of service consequent to the Government Orders dated 08.08.2019 and 27.08.2019. Therefore, on 14.10.2019 the petitioners made representation to the 2nd respondent seeking regularization of their services on par with other similarly situated persons. However, till date the said representation was not considered. Therefore, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that it would be suffice to issue direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation dated 14.10.2019 made by the petitioners, on merits and in accordance with law.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, I am inclined to issue direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation dated 14.10.2019 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, on merits and in accordance with law.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
