The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to direct the 1st respondent police to provide police protection to repair and remove the damaged iron rod and affix the new steps way based on the petitioner complaint in C.S.R.No.492 of 2019 dated 05.10.2019.

2.Despite several adjournments, there is no representation for the petitioner. Heard Mr.S.Karthikeyan, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the 1st respondent and Mr.J.Ram, learned counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the 1st respondent on instruction would submit that in respect of representation dated 05.10.2019 given by the petitioner, the 1st respondent police initiated an enquiry in C.S.R.No.492 of 2019 and thereafter, the same has been closed on 2019 itself. According to him as of now, no petition / no enquiry is pending. 4.Hence, in view of the same, in the absence of any representation, this Court cannot direct the respondent police to provide police protection and therefore, the petition filed by the petitioner is devoid of merits. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
