ORDER

(Order of this Court was made by M.S.Ramesh J.) The writ of Habeas Corpus Petition has been instituted to direct the second respondent to produce the petitioner's mother, Mary, aged about 85 years.

2. Since the mother of the petitioner was missing from 10.07.2024, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the 2 nd respondent,Inspector of Police.

Subsequently, on 11.07.2024, She also submitted a complaint to the 1 st respondent, the Superintendent of police, for which CSR No.976 of 2024 has been assigned. As there was no progress in the investigation to trace the petitioner's mother, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

3. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint preferred by the petitioner, petition enquiry is pending in CSR No.976 of 2024 and that the second respondent police is proceeding with the complaint to locate the petitioner's mother. 2/4

4. Since the complaint lodged by the petitioner is in process, we deem it fit to direct the second respondent to expedite the enquiry and file a final report.

5. In view of this decision, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition does not require consideration. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the second respondent herein to expedite the complaint in CSR No.976 of 2024 and file a final report as expeditiously as possible.

6. In view of the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands disposed of.
