The petitioner/A2 who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 13.10.2023, registered by the respondent Police for the offences under Sections 24(1) of Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 and 328 of IPC in Crime No.740 of 2023, seeks bail. 2.It is the case of the respondent that on 13.10.2023, when the respondent Police was on routine checkup in Kundrathur Main Road at Porur, they found A1 in possession of banned tobacco products in two gunny bags and on his confession, from the petitioner/A2, 18 kgs of banned tobacco products was found. Further, on the confession of the present petitioner, it was revealed that A6 who was the main dealer supplying banned tobacco products to this State from Karnataka through A4 and A5. It is stated that the petitioner is a wholesale dealer. 3.

The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that A4 and A5 had been granted bail by the learned Sessions Judge, Thiruvallur. 4.A6 is still absconding and that is a very significant fact. 5.Taking into consideration the fact that all the accused had taken a decision to supply the banned tobacco products to the students and general public, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 6.Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 02.11.2023 vkr 1/2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.
