Heard Mr. R.Ezhilarasan, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner and Mr. N.Nithianandam, Learned Counsel for the First Respondent and perused the materials placed on record, apart from the pleadings of the parties.

The husband of the Petitioner, viz., U.Subramaniam, died on 15.05.2017 while he was in the service of the First Respondent. This Writ Petition has been filed by the Petitioner for directing the First Respondent to pay her the terminal benefits of the said U.Subramaniam within a time limit that may be fixed by the Court.

The First Respondent has filed status report dated 29.04.2022 along with supporting documents from which it could be noticed that all the terminal benefits payable to the said U.Subramaniam have been paid to the Second Respondent, viz., U.Easwari, who is the mother of the said U.Subramaniam and has been appointed as nominee by him as entered in the records. 4.

In such circumstances, nothing remains for consideration in the Writ Petition, but it would not preclude the Petitioner from working out her rights for claiming her share of the terminal benefits, if she is entitled, from the Second Respondent in appropriate legal proceedings in the manner recognized by law. In fine, the Writ Petition is disposed with the aforesaid clarifications. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
