Respondents PRAYER: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to give effect to the regularization of services of the petitioners in the post of Data Entry Operators with effect from date of initial appointment respectively and to covert them as Junior Assistant with effect from the date of initial appointment as Data Entry Operators and to forthwith promote them to the post of Assistants in the available sanctioned vacancies and grant them all monetary benefits.

The petitioners seek a Mandamus directing the respondent to regularize the petitioners' services in the post of Data Entry Operators with effect from the date of initial
appointment and to covert them as Junior Assistant with effect from the date of initial appointment as Data Entry Operators and to promote them to the post of Assistants in the available sanctioned vacancies with all monetary benefits.
2. Heard Mr.M.Ravi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.Zakkir Hussain, learned Government Advocate appearing for the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Home Department, Chennai, and the Director General of Police, Chennai, arrayed as respondent Nos.1 and 2.
3. Admittedly, representations have been filed by the petitioners before both respondents on 11.09.2017. Since they did not find favour of response from the respondents, a reminder has been filed on 27.11.2017 reiterating their request. Admittedly, there is no response till date.
4. Learned Government Counsel confirms that representations have been received from the petitioners. There is then, no justification for the respondents to keep the same pending thus far without passing any orders.
5. The first respondent is directed to dispose the representations after affording opportunity to the petitioners and hearing them and pass appropriate orders within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
