ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu.W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

2. This case is registered for alleged offences under Sections 153A and 427 of Indian Penal Code, 1860. The allegation in this case is that the accused, belonging to a different political party, defaced the poster of another political party, thereby creating unrest between two groups of the public. The defacto complainant has submitted that he does not wish to pursue the case any Page No.1 of 3

further.

3. Considering that the case is political in nature and the parties have since moved on, no useful purpose would be served in conducting the trial. The accused has also been facing the case since the year 2018, and any further continuation would impinge upon his right to a speedy trial.

4. Accordingly, the case in C.C.No.100085 of 2018 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Vanur, Vanur Taluk, Villupuram shall stand quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stand disposed of. 10.09.2025 nsl electronically alone. The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
