O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.660 of 2018 on file of the first respondent police. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

It is the grievance of the petitioners that even though the case was registered on 07.11.2018, till now investigation has not completed and charge sheet has not been filed. Therefore the case against the petitioner in Crime No.660 of 2018 has to be quashed.

According to learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the first respondent police the parties themselves approached the first respondent police and represented that they would settle the matter amicably and hence so far charge sheet has not been filed.

A careful perusal of the FIR reveal that there is prima facie allegations against the petitioners and there was physical assault, which offence comes under Sections 324 and 506(ii) of IPC. Under these circumstances, this Court is not inclined to grant the relief sought for by the petitioners. Accordingly this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 2/4

Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is also closed. However, the first respondent police is directed to complete investigation and file charge sheet on or before 27.12.2024 without fail.
