The petitioner/A3 who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(aaa), 4(1)(h) and 4(1-A)(ii) of Tamilnadu Prohibition Act r/w Section 328 of IPC in Crime No.396 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.It is stated that the respondent had intercepted a Tata Indica car bearing Registration No.TN-30-R-4279, in which the petitioner along with other accused were found in illegal possession of 110 litres of country arrack, 2016 packets of Old Secret Strong XXX rum each weighing 90ml and 198 packets of Top Star brandy each weighing 90ml apart from that, Carnival XXX Rum 336 Packets each weighing 180ml. It is stated that there are also several previous cases pending against the petitioner herein. 3.Taking into consideration the large quantity of seizure, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
