The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to give adequate police protection for the life and limb of the petitioner based on his representation dated 07.10.2019.

2.Despite several adjournments, the learned counsel for petitioner has not appeared for making his submissions. Heard Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 & 2.

3.Today when the petition is came up for hearing, learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instruction would submit that in respect of the representation dated 07.10.2019 given by the petitioner, the 2nd respondent police did not initiated any enquiry and therefore, the same has been pending on the file of the 2nd respondent without any orders.

4.Now on considering the said submissions with the relevant records, it would appropriate to direct the 2nd respondent to initiate an enquiry after informing the petitioner and to complete the same within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order by following the guidelines illustrated by our Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Lalita Kumari vs. Government of Uttar Pradesh and others [2014 (2) SCC (1)].

5.With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
