O R D E R

The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to issue SLR patta in respect of the schedule mentioned property.

The petitioner in order to get SLR patta for the land situated at Hasthinapuram Village formerly Saidapet Taluk, presently Pallavaram Taluk, Chengalpet District has given representation/application to the 2nd respondent Revenue Divisional Officer on 22.07.2009, however the same, according to the learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner, has not so far been considered and no orders have been passed, therefore the petitioner has moved the present writ petition with the aforestated prayer.

3. Heard Mr.C.T.Mohan, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents would 2/5

submit that it is the claim of the petitioner that, such an application or representation has been given to get SLR patta to the 2nd respondent way back in the year 2009, therefore by this time that application would have been considered and disposed and it cannot be kept pending for all these years, therefore the learned Special Government Pleader would submit that, if a copy of the said application or representation submitted by the petitioner to the 2nd respondent is furnished along with the copy of this order, the same would be considered by the 2nd respondent and orders would be passed thereon on merits and in accordance with law if not already been decided and pass orders within a time frame.

Considering the said stand taken by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents, this Court directs the petitioner to forward a copy of the said representation dated 22.07.2009 along with the copy of this order to the 2nd respondent seeking SLR patta for the land referred to above within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of the copy of the order along with copy of the representation dated 22.07.2009 from the petitioner, the 2nd respondent shall consider the same and after giving an opportunity of being heard to the 3/5

petitioner, the same shall be decided on merits and in accordance with law and orders to be communicated to the petitioner within a period of four weeks thereafter.
