O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to include the name of the petitioner's daughter as a nominee in order to enable her to receive the family pension after the life time of the petitioner.

2.Heard Mr.Y.George William, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.M.Murali Vinoth, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3.The case of the petitioner is that he joined as a Conductor in the Transport Corporation in the year 1987. The petitioner is now working as a Traffic Inspector and he will reach his age of superannuation on 31.10.2024. During his life time, he lost his wife in the year 2019. The petitioner wanted to register the name of his daughter as the nominee in the Service Records. Since the daughter was a minor, the petitioner wanted her to be represented by his 3/5

mother-in-law. The representation made by the petitioner in this regard did not evoke any response. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition came to be filed before this Court.

4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the relief sought for by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 23.08.2024 and take necessary steps to include the name of the petitioner's daughter in the Service Register as the nominee. Necessary proceedings shall be issued in this regard, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
