Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to cancel the patta issued in favour of the private respondents herein in Patta No.469, with respect to Survey No.171/4 D2, and also directing the 2nd respondent to issue fresh patta in favour of the petitioner with correct extent of 3.87 acres for Survey No.171/4 D2 situated at Veeranamur Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District, by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner on 18.11.2021.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition is disposed of at the time of admission with the consent of the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader who takes notice on behalf of the Respondents 1 to 4.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a mandamus to direct the 2nd Respondent to cancel the patta issued in favour of the private Page No. 2 of 5

respondents herein in Patta No.469, with respect to Survey No.171/4 D2, and also directing the 2nd respondent to issue fresh patta in favour of the petitioner with correct extent of 3.87 acres for Survey No.171/4 D2 situated at Veeranamur Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District, by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner on 18.11.2021.

3. During the course of hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader for the Respondents 1 to 4 has placed a copy of the proceedings of Revenue Divisional Officer dated 24.09.2025 bearing Na.Ka.m1/2235/2025, wherein it has been stated that enquiry was completed as early as 19.03.2025 and the papers have been forwarded to the Sub-Collector, Tindivanam to pass appropriate orders.

4. Considering the same, the Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed as the Petitioner's representation is an active consideration of the Sub-Collector. The Sub-Collector shall pass appropriate orders after due notice to the private respondents as expeditiously as possible within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
