Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the official respondents 1 to 7 to take action against the respondents 8 and 9 for restoring the lands comprised in survey No. 179/3 to 179/22 in Veeraraghavapuram village, Poonamallee Taluk, Thiruvallur District to their original position and consequently cancel the sale deeds or any other documents executed in favour of the 8th and 9th respondents in respect of those lands.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The grievance ventilated in this petition no longer survives in view of what has been stated by the respondents in their counter that, after proceedings having been drawn, patta has been cancelled and the land has been restored to its original condition. 2.
Learned counsel appearing for respondent Nos. 8 and 9, however, submits that the action taken by the official respondents is illegal and the said respondents are entitled to take appropriate remedy under the law.

Taking into consideration the submissions made by learned counsel for parties and that now the action has been taken by the official respondents against the private respondents, we are not inclined to proceed further in the matter.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.

It is made clear that the order passed in this case shall not come in the way of the private respondents in taking recourse to such remedy as may be available to them under the law, in case they are aggrieved by the action of the official respondents.
