By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2.The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners joined as Junior Assistant in Tiruvarur Municipality in the year 1994. Subsequently they were promoted in the year 2007 as Assistant and currently working as Assistant in Koothanallur Municipality which is a class V under Tamil Nadu Municipal General Service. Aggrieved against the partial and arbitrary treatment of the respondents with regard to selection process to the promotion in Class IV category, along with other similarly situated persons they sent representation on 05.09.2019 to adopt an uniform state wise promotion to Class IV from Class-V https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

category as that of the Class-II employees, but till date the same has been not considered. Hence, the petitioners have filed the present petition.

3.Heard both sides.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 05.09.2019 and pass orders, within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

5.Though the petitioners have sought for a larger relief, this Court without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 05.09.2019 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. No costs.
