PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to sanction the increment and revise the pension from the scale of pay of Rs.80,000/- to Rs.82,400/- from October 2016 to till date, draw and disburse the same, within a reasonable time frame. 1/4

ORDER

Heard Mr.M.Muthappan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Bindra, learned Additional Government Pleader for the 1st respondent.

2. In view of the order to be passed in this Writ Petition, no prejudice would be cased to the 2nd respondent and hence, notice to the 2nd respondent is dispensed with.

3. The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to sanction increment and revise the pension from the scale of pay of Rs.80,000/- to Rs.82,400/- from October 2016 to till date, draw and disburse the same

4. Though the petitioner had sought for sanctioning increment and revision of pension, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit 2/4

that he would be satisfied if the petitioner's representation in this regard dated 12.09.2023 is considered within a stipulated time.

5. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the respondents herein to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 12.09.2023, if not already disposed of, after giving due opportunity to the petitioner, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
