Respondents Prayer:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents not to open the Government Tasmac shops bearing No.2867 and 2868 in the present complex which is situated in the area of Government Higher Secondary School Compound, BSNL Office of Pappireddipatti Town Panchayat, Dharmapuri District. [Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN, J.,] The matter in issue pertains to location of two Liquor Shops by Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited bearing Nos.2867 and 2868, which according to the petitioner lies close to Government School and as such it is prohibited. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. When the matter was listed on 16.06.2017, the learned Additional Advocate General accepted notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent and prayed for time to get instructions and again it was listed on 09.11.2018 and posted to 26.11.2018 under the caption "For Orders".
3. This Court heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.E.Manoharan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the 1st respondent and Mr.B.Nedunchezhian, learned Standing counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent on instructions would submit that two TASMAC shops have been closed and the said submission on instructions is placed on record.
3. In the light of the said submissions, nothing remains for further adjudication in this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
