2. I heard the learned counsel for the applicant/first Defendant and the learned counsel for the respondent/plaintiff.

3. The learned counsel for the applicant submitted that the applicant's husband was sick and bedridden and that therefore, she was unable to meet her counsel for the purpose of preparing the written statement. Therefore, he submits that the delay is liable to be condoned.
