The petitioner/A1 in Crime No.21 of 2023 has filed a quash petition. The petitioner / A1 is charged under Sections 7, 7-A and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended by the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment)Act, 2018 2.
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is working as a Sub Registrar, Vedaranyam, Namakkal District. On 02.11.2023, a surprise check was conducted in the petitioner's office based on information received by the 1st respondent on 01.11.2023. During the search, some uncounted money was seized from the above office and a case has been registered against the petitioner and another person, a document writer. The petitioner has rendered an unblemished service of 22 years and without proper verification of the information, the respondent had registered the case against the petitioner. As a result, the petitioner filed the quash petition. 3.
The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the State, on the other hand, submits that on completion of investigation in the above case, the DVAC had sent the final report to the Vigilance Commission on 16.02.2024. The vigilance commissioner recommended disciplinary action against the petitioner through the Commission for Disciplinary Proceedings Page No.2 of 4
Tribunal and further, the license cancellation to the document writer V.P.Chandrasekaran. Thereafter, as per the Government Letter (2D) No.107, Commercial Taxes and Registration (K) Department, dated 21.11.2024, Government ordered Tribunal action against the petitioner and the Tribunal proceedings pending against him before the Commissioner of Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings, Trichy, in TDP Case No.13 of 2024. Now it is for the petitioner to approach the Tribunal and participate in the Tribunal proceedings.

In view of the above, nothing survives in this petition. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
