O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 24.06.2024 filed by the petitioner within the time fixed this Court.

2. Heard Mr.V.Vijayashankar, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he was working as Assistant and that disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him and a punishment of removal from service was imposed against the petitioner. The same was also confirmed in appeal. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed W.P.No.2910 of 2018. This Court allowed the writ petition by order dated 27.07.2022 and remanded the matter back to the file of second respondent.

4. Pursuant to the above order, the second respondent once again reached a finding and imposed a punishment of removal from service through proceedings dated 27.05.2024. Aggrieved by the same, 2/4

the petitioner has filed an appeal before the first respondent dated 24.06.2024. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of relief sought for in the present writ petition, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to deal with the appeal on its own merits and in accordance with law after affording opportunity to the petitioner and final orders shall be passed within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
