The order of the second respondent dated 26.01.2018, is put under challenge in the present Writ Petition. Further, the petitioner has sought for a direction to the second respondent to return his passport bearing No.K0361301.
2. Heard the learned counsels on either side.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had approached the second respondent for verification of his passport in order to visit Srilanka, with his valid passport in which, the date of birth of the petitioner has been indicated as Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu and now, he is residing at Ayanavaram. He further submitted that the second respondent refused to consider his request and has confiscated the passport and directed
the petitioner to appear before the FRRO, Chennai along with supporting documents regarding his place of birth. Hence, the petition.
4. In furtherance, the learned counsel submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the petitioner to appear before the third respondent with necessary proof with regard to his place of birth and nativity.
5. Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondents 1 & 2 submitted that upon submission of the documents by the petitioner to the third respondent, if the respondent concerned is satisfied, they will consider and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

Considering the submissions made by the respective learned counsels, this Court directs the petitioner to appear before the third respondent with necessary documents viz., place of birth and nativity proof and upon satisfaction of the same, the respondent concerned shall pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, as the petitioner's passport expired on 19.02.2022.
7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. There shall be no orders as to costs.
