Contemnor(s) PRAYER: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the Respondent for willfully disobeying the order of this Court passed on 10.05.2023 in W.P.No.15162 of 2023. For Petitioner(s):

Mr. R.Krishnan For Contemnor(s):

Mr.Prithivi Chopda, Standing Counsel For The Respondent

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by Dr.Anita Sumanth J.) Read this order in continuation of and in conjunction with earlier orders. 2.Today a status report is filed by Mr.Prithvi Chopda, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent enclosing a compilation of four documents.

3. The last document in the typed set is an order dated 04.03.2025 which has been passed by the Zonal Officer, Zone-VII, after hearing the petitioner as well as the private respondents who had been arrayed in the writ petition and in respect of whom opportunity was specifically directed to be granted. The conclusion in the order is in favour of petitioner to the effect that the private respondents are encroachers. With this, the object of the contempt petition stands achieved.

4.Prior to closing this contempt petition, however, there is a footnote. We note discrepancies in the signature of the writ petitioner insofar as in the sale deed executed qua the writ petitioner and the Corporation dated 30.08.2011, the petitioner has signed as 'Parvathy' whereas in the documents accompanying the writ petition including representation dated 30.01.2023 filed before the authority, she has signed as 'Parvathi'. When this is pointed out to the learned

counsel for the writ petitioner, he has no answer.

5. At this juncture, Mr.Prithvi would also, on instructions from Mr.Dr.Ravichandran, Assistant Engineer, Zone-7, Ambattur, Chennai and Mr.K.S.Sathees Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer, Zone-7, Ambattur, Chennai, who are present in Court state that there are certain discrepancies that have been noted in the course of the enquiry by the authorities in respect of the landholding of the writ petitioner qua the properties that are the subject matter of the writ petition. Needless to say, these discrepancies will be enquired into by the respondents to their satisfaction.

6. This contempt petition is closed. No costs. (ANITA SUMANTH J.)(M.NIRMAL KUMAR J.) 11-03-2025 vs Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order To T.Karunakaran, The Zonal Officer, Zone VII, Ambattur, Thiruvallur High Road, Chennai 600 053.
