ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned proceedings of the 2 nd respondent in Se.Mu. Aa. No. Vu6/ 30868/ 2022 dated 02.06.2023 and for a consequential direction to the respondents to issue a legal heirship certificate to the petitioner.

2.Heard Mr.J.B.Solomon Peter Kamal Doss, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.Neelakandan, assisted by Mr.R.Murthi, learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 4.

3. The 2 nd respondent has rejected the application submitted by the

petitioner mainly on the ground that there was absolutely no document to establish that the petitioner has married Late Sureshkumar. Apart from that, there was also opposition from the 5 th respondent.

4. The status of the petitioner is now in question. The same cannot be decided by the District Revenue Officer, and more so since the petitioner was not able to produce before the authority any valid document to prove the marriage. Therefore, the petitioner has to necessarily approach the competent Civil Court and seek a declaration of her status. That exercise cannot be done by the District Revenue Officer.

5. Therefore, liberty is granted to the petitioner to work out her remedy in the manner known to law. This writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed.
