ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 4(1)(a), 4(1)(i), of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act and 4(1)(A), 4(1)(C), 14(A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024, in Crime No.75 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that on 11.06.2025 at about 06.30 hours, while the Inspector of Police along with his police party was conducting a vehicle check up in Mangalur Village, at that juncture the petitioner and another person attempted to sell Tasmack Liquor bottle, and he was found in illegal possession of 150 bottle of Brandy, which were seized by the respondent police from A1.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent would vehemently oppose stating that the petitioner is a habitual offender against whom there are twenty six previous cases pending. 5.Taking into consideration the nature of offence and the antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
