This writ petition has been filed for the issuance of writ of prohibition prohibiting the respondents, their men and agents from levying, demanding and collecting Additional Sales Tax from the petitioner on exempted turnover upto Rs.10 crores and in access of the rates applicable for each slab under the Additional Sales Tax Act, 1970 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. Heard Mr.Palaniselvaraj, the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Manoharan Sundaram, learned Additional Government Pleader.
3. The issue involved in this writ petition is squarely covered by the decision of the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court in W.P.Nos.16180 of 2004 and batch (Gangotri Textiles Ltd., Vs. The State of Tamil Nadu and another), dated 17.11.2006, which is against the petitioner.
4. In view of the same, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
