This petition has been filed to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2015 and consequently direct the respondent to reduce or commute the sentence under Sections 432 and 433 of Cr.P.C. to the detenu, Arumairaj, aged about 46 years, convict No.6695 detained at Central Prison, Palayamkottai.

2. Mr.Manoharan learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petition has become infructuous since the life convict has been released by virtue of G.O.Ms.No.64 of 2018 dated 01.02.2018.
