ORDER
This Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.08.2023 seeking medical reimbursement within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.
2. Heard Ms.Shaikh Mehrunisa, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C. Gawthamraj, learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent and Mr.P.Athiveera Rama Pandian, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent and perused the entire material available on record.
3.The case of the petitioner is that he was a retired Medical Officer, who retired in the month of May 2007. He is getting pension through the Treasury Office, Chengalpattu. He got admitted in Vanagaram Apollo Hospital on 18.02.2021 for Coronary Angiogram and was discharged on 20.02.2021. Again, he got admitted in the same Hospital on 22.02.2021 for the treatment of his CAD with triple vessel disease and Bilateral Carotid Artery Stenosis along with Systemin Hypertension. He was treated with on Pump CABG, Right Carotid Endarterectomy done on 24.02.2021 and was 2/6
discharged on 20.03.2021. Again, he was readmitted on 30.03.2021 for Post Operative Sternal Dehiscence, Sternal Rewiring with Resuturing done on 01.04.2021. Later, he was discharged on 13.04.2021. He submitted all medical bills to the first respondent requesting for medical reimbursement on 27.04.2021. The same was forwarded to the second respondent on 05.08.2021. On 18.10.2021, the medical reimbursement of the petitioner was rejected by the second respondent. Thereafter, that on 28.02.2023, the petitioner sent a letter to the first respondent enclosing a copy of the discharge summary for the treatment obtained from the Vanagaram Apollo Hospital alongwith the details of in-patient treatment particulars in order to consider him for medical reimbursement. However, till now, there is no response from the respondents.
Therefore, again the petitioner has sent a representation dated 16.08.2023 to the first respondent. But there is no reply till date. Aggrieved by the inaction of the first respondent in considering the representation dated 16.08.2023, submitted by the petitioner seeking for medical reimbursement, he constrained to file the present Writ Petition. 4.On behalf of the first respondent, a detailed counter affidavit has been filed containing 22 paragraphs.

5.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court in accordance with law.
6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the relief sought in this Petition with regard to the non-consideration of the representation of the petitioner dated 16.08.2023, in our considered view, it is reasonable and desirable to dispose of this Writ Petition without going into the merits of the case at this stage, with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.08.2023 and take appropriate decision within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court, to meet the interest of justice.
7.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following direction:

(i)the first respondent shall consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.08.2023, seeking medical reimbursement, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the said decision to the petitioner. No costs.
