The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned V Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, to dispose of the case in C.C.No.855 of 2024 within the stipulated time.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that based on the complaint lodged by the de facto complainant, a case in Crime No.46 of 2023 was registered by the respondent for the offence under Sections 417, 419, 469 and 471 IPC. After completion of investigation, a charge sheet was filed and taken cognizance in the year 2024 in C.C.No.855 of 2024 on the file of the V Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai. However, despite the lapse of time, there has been no progress in the trial. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to dispose of the case.

3. Heard the petitioner (Party-in-Person) and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the first respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case that the case pertains to the year 2023 and despite the filing of the charge sheet in the year 2024, the trial is still pending, the learned V Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, is directed to complete the trial in C.C.No.855 of 2024 as 2/4

expeditiously as possible.
