ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the trial Court for speedy disposal of the CC No.3773 of 2021 on the file of the learned Metropolitan Magistrate for CCB & CBCID Cases, Chennai to dispose of the case within the stipulated time.

2.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had lodged a complaint against the accused and the same was registered in Crime No. 474 of 2015 for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC. He further submitted that charge sheet has been filed before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate CCB & CBCID, Chennai and was taken cognizance in C.C.No3773 of 2021. Summons were issued to the accused and he is appearing before the trial Court regularly. There are totally 18 witnesses, but not even single witness has been examined so far. The case is pending from the year 2021 without any progress. Therefore, the present petition has been filed.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that 2/4

fourth accused by name Jayaram was dead.

Considering the fact that the case is pending from the year 2021 and also considering that 18 witnesses to be examined, the learned Metropolitan Magistrate CCB & CBCID, Chennai is directed to dispose of the case in C.C.No.3773 of 2021 as expeditiously as possible. 5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
