Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Declaration, declaring that the Recruitment Rules called Pondicherry University Group A, B, C and D non-teaching Recruitment Rules dated 06.09.2000 are illegal and unconstitutional to the extent they deny the Private Secretaries promotion by seniority to the 25% of the vacancies in the post of Assistant Registrar/Assistant Finance

Officer and consequently direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners for promotion on seniority as Assistant Registrar/Assistant Finance officer from the dates the respondents 2 and 3 are promoted.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners seek permission of this Court to withdraw this Writ petition and he has also made an endorsement to that effect.

2. In view of the endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, this Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. No costs.
