Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to provide the Marriage financial asistance to the petitioner's daughter marriage namely Sangeetha under the scheme of the "Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyuar Memorial Marriage Financial Assistance" based on application, vide 20210200026837 dated 11.02.2021 and subsequent representation dated 27.09.2022 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court. The prayer in the Writ Petition reads as follows: "to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to provide the Marriage financial assistance to the petitioner's daughter marriage namely Sangeetha 2/6
under the scheme of the "Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyuar Memorial Marriage Financial Assistance" based on application, vide 20210200026837 dated 11.02.2021 and subsequent representation dated 27.09.2022 within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court."
2. The learned Government Pleader would submit that the Scheme under which the petitioner as sought for Marriage Assistance, viz. Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Assistance Scheme has been discontinued and instead a new Scheme called "Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme", which will benefit to the girl students studying from Classes Sixth to Twelfth Standard in Government Schools. The said Government Order effecting such change in G.O.Ms.No.46, has been issued on 02.08.2022. The petitioner had applied for the benefits of the Scheme even on 11.02.2021. Therefore, the respondents are bound to consider the application of the petitioner under the then existing Scheme.

3. Hence the Writ Petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondents to consider the application of the petitioner and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
