This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 05.09.2022 in order to grant a job to the petitioner in the Social Welfare and Mid-day Meals Department of Tamil Nadu under compassionate ground.
2. The case of the petitioner is that his father, who was working as a Mid-day meal organizer, has died on 10.09.2000. Therefore, he has to be appointed on compassionate ground and he gave a representation to the respondents on 05.09.2022 and the same has not been considered by the respondents. Hence, he seeks a direction to the respondents to 2/5
consider his representation.
3. Heard both sides and perused the entire materials available on record.
4. At the outset, this Court is unable to countenance the contention of the petitioner. The representation seeking compassionate appointment has been given by the petitioner after a lapse of 22 years. The very object of the compassionate appointment is to alleviate the distress in family in need and immediate sustenance to maintain the family. The application for compassionate appointment ought to have been given within three years from the date of death of the Government servant.
