The petitioners seek bail in Crime No.526 of 2023, registered by the respondent police for the offences under Sections 273, 328 of IPC r/w Section 7, 20(2) of COTPA Act, 2003, and Section 58 & 59 of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. They had been remanded to judicial custody on 19.10.2023.

2.It is stated that the respondent had conducted a patrol search on a Swift Desire car bearing Regn.No.DL-2-CAT-8435, which was driven by the petitioners. It was found that there was 515 Kgs of tobacco products.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioners stated that the petitioners herein were only the driver of the car but driving a car having registration with Delhi and transporting tobacco products to another State requires further investigation. At this stage, I am not inclined to grant

bail to the petitioners. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
