Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to pass orders, directions, writs in particular a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to forthwith take steps to correct the particulars of the petitioner's name, date of Birth and the date on which the petitioner completed 10 years of service based on the representation given in the petitioner dated 26.08.2019. The case of the petitioner is that he was selected as Mazdoor/NMR in the year 1984. As per G.O.(Ms) No.334 Public Works (C2) Department dated 19.10.2007, the petitioner was brought into regular establishment as irrigation assistant. In Annexure-VIII of the said GO, the petitioner name was found at serial No.58, but his name and date of birth was wrongly mentioned due to which, the petitioner made several representations for correcting the particulars. Till date his representations were not considered by the respondents. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice to issue directions to the respondents to dispose of the representation dated 26.08.2019 and pass orders.
3. Mr.A.N.Thambi Durai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents conceded to the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
4. Without expressing any opinion on merits of the case and considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, I am inclined to issue direction to the respondents to consider the representation dated 26.08.2019 submitted by the petitioner and pass orders within a period of Twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
