Respondent(s) This petition has been filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a direction to the respondents to grant lease of the fishing rights in respect of Paruthipalli Eri to the above members of the 7th respondent society namely F.M.R.13 Pallipalayam Avarangkadu Inland Fishermen Cooperative society, Namakkal District for the period of 5 years (o.e. 2025 to 2030) in accordance with Revenue Standing Order 211 and G.O.Ms. No.332 Animal Husbandry ad Fisheries (Fs.IV) Department dated 17.11.1993. ORDER
By consent of the either parties, the writ petition is disposed at the admission stage itself.
2. This petition has been filed seeking to issue a direction to the respondents to grant lease of the fishing rights in respect of Paruthipalli Eri to the above members of the 7th respondent society namely F.M.R.13 Pallipalayam Avarangkadu Inland Fishermen Cooperative society, Namakkal District for the period of 5 years (o.e. 2025 to 2030) in accordance with Revenue Standing Order 211 and G.O.Ms. No.332 Animal Husbandry ad Fisheries (Fs.IV) Department dated 17.11.1993.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that for granting lease of the fishing rights, the petitioner made a representation on 05.07.2025 to the respondents and the same was not considered. Hence, the present petition.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the 5 th respondent to consider the representation dated 05.07.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.
5. Per contra, the learned Government appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed within the time frame as fixed by this Court.
6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
7. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the 5 th respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation dated 05.07.2025 within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
