Mr.T.M.Rajangam Government Advocate, (for R1 & R2) COMMON ORDER The contempt petitions on hand have been filed praying to punish the respondents for deliberately disobeying the order of this Hon'ble Court dated 14.06.2023 in W.P.Nos.5111 & 5107of 2023.
2. The learned Government Advocate, appearing on behalf of the respondents in both the Contempt Petitions made a submission that the second respondent filed a status report stating that the Government Issued G.O.Ms.No.6, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, dated 10.01.2024, implementing the orders of this Court dated 14.06.2023, passed in W.P.No.5111 of 2023 and W.P.No.5107 of 2023. The compensation for the land acquired from the petitioners are directed to be settled in the said Government Order.
3. The status report filed by the first respondent District Collector would reveal that the Government of Tamil Nadu issued G.O.Ms.No.6, dated 10.01.2024 and sanctioned the land compensation payable to the petitioners. Based on the Government Order, the enhanced compensation for the lands acquired from the petitioners will be paid through Court within a fortnight.
4. Thus, the petitioners are at liberty to move to the Court concerned for the purpose of withdrawal of the amount. In the event of filing any such petition, the LAOP Court shall verify the identity of the persons and accordingly disburse the money without causing any undue delay. 5.Accordingly, the contempt petitions stand closed. 12.01.2024 Index : Yes/No (sha)
