By consent of the either parties, the writ petition is disposed at the admission stage itself.
2. This petition has been filed seeking to issue a direction to the 1st Respondent to grant Citizenship based on petitioner's wife citizenship and consider petitioner's application through online portal MHA File No.2025020293 dated 05.07.2025 for citizenship in the Home Department, New Delhi.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner's ancestors are living in India, since his parents were migrated to Malaysia for job, the petitioner was also born in Malaysia. The petitioner married his uncle's daughter, who is a resident of India and the petitioner was working at Malaysia, further now the petitioner is aged about 67 years and become senior citizen and the petitioner at present, has no job at Malaysia, thereby submitted a application through online portal on 05.07.2025 for citizenship in India, since the same has not been considered, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition. 2/5

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the first respondent to consider the application of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within the time stipulated by this Court. 5.The learned counsels on the side of the respondents would contend that if the petitioner satisfies all the norms stipulated under the Citizenship Act, the respondents will consider and pass appropriate orders.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's application, in terms of the Citizenship Act within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs. 15-09-2025 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes ssd 3/5
