The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 29.07.2025, for the offence punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b) (ii)(B), 29(1), 25 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in 1/4

Cr.No.238 of 2025, on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.

2. The petitioner was found in possession of 15 kgs of ganja along with three other accused who are all native of Tripura State.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner on the ground that investigation is at nascent stage and if the petitioner is released on bail, he may abscond.

4. Considering the said objection, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition for bail stands dismissed for the present.
