O R D E R

Today when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special

Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has submitted that the order of this Court made in W.P.No.25399 of 2021, dated 30.11.2021 has been complied with by the respondent/ Commissioner, Welfare of the Differently Abled, Chennai by order dated 31.05.2023. As against the said order, the petitioner has made an appeal to the Secretary to Government, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons (DAP-1) Department, Chennai. The said petition was dismissed by the Secretary to the Government by letter dated 25.04.2024 stating that "neither the Chief Secretary to Government nor the Secretary to Government, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Department is the appellate authority as contented by the petitioner. Hence, I am to state that appropriate disposal has been done by the respondent authorities as per the rules in force." The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent has placed a copy of the above communications before this Court.

Recording the submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent and in view of above orders passed by the respondent and the Secretary to Government, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons (DAP-1) Department, Chennai, the contempt petition stands

closed. It is open to the petitioner to seek remedy before the appropriate forum in the manner known to law.
