ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide uninterrupted electricity to the petitioner without any power cuts and pass appropriate orders for substitution as sought for therein.
2. The petitioner is a company which is in the business of largescale manufacturing of medical and surgical equipments. In the year 2014, the petitioner had obtained high tension electricity connection for supply in its factory premises and the petitioner is paying minimum meter rent charges every month without fail. The petitioner's function in manufacturing of medical equipment is constantly disrupted by frequent power cuts as a result of which production of essential commodities is affected. Even after giving various representations, there has been no response from the respondents. Hence, the present writ petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court 2/5
may issue a direction to the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the respondents are ready to provide uninterrupted connection. If there is a fluctuation in the electricity supply, the power supply will disconnect automatically. The respondents are not responsible for that. If at all, the petitioner has any grievance, he has to fix a private generator for the industry.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the fact that we cannot predict that when the power supply goes off. Based on the demand and based on the supply, the respondents have supplied electricity connection. The respondents have not disconnected the power supply intentionally. Based on the requirement, there is a fluctuation in the power supply. Hence, the prayer sought for by 3/5
the petitioner cannot be granted.
