This writ petition is filed seeking for a Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2017 and consequently, direct the respondents to give arrears of salary from July 2017.

2. Heard, Mr.R.Sudhakar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.Suriyanarayanan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. Perusal of the representation dated 22.08.2017 would show that the petitioner claims that he should have been promoted to the post of Deputy Tahsildar, which according to the petitioner, has been denied to him. Therefore, by claiming that he is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

entitled to get the salary in the post of Deputy Tahsildar, the petitioner seeks for salary to the said post. I do not understand as to how the petitioner is entitled to seek such relief, when admittedly he was not promoted to the post of Deputy Tahsildar. Therefore, the very representation itself is totally misconceived. Consequently, the prayer sought for in this writ petition is not maintainable.
