The petitioner seeks bail in Crime No.156 of 2023, registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 6 of POCSO Act, 2012. The petitioner had been remanded to custody on 14.10.2023. 2.It is stated by the learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) for the respondent that the occurrence had happened on 08.10.2023 and the petitioner had absconded and was subsequently arrested only on 14.10.2023. 3.It is however stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that in the remand report it had been stated that the said offence had taken place in October 2022.

4.The learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) however stated that the CFSL report is still awaited and investigation is still pending. 5.It is also stated that the victim child had been examined and statement under Section 164(5) Cr.P.C., had also been recorded where she had reiterated the version as stated in the complaint.
