O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 17.07.2023 and 26.04.2023, and consequently provide the petitioner with a personal security officer, along with police protection.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is serving as a member of the Manampathy Panchayat as a counselor, and due to personal vendetta, a ward member of the said Panchayat Union attempted to attack the petitioner. In this regard, the petitioner has sent representations seeking police protection.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions from the respondent-police, submits that there is no life threat to the petitioner, as alleged. Furthermore, the IS report also indicates that there is no life threat, and the petition has been filed solely due to personal vendetta with a member of the Panchayat Union.

4. In view of the above submissions, since the IS report indicates that there is no life threat to the petitioner, and since the petitioner has not impleaded the ward member who is allegedly involved in the matter, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
