O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent District Collector to consider the petitioner's representation claiming compensation.

2. According to the petitioner, her husband by name one Bakthavachalam died in a road accident on 08.12.2012, and a criminal case was also registered on the file of Kanathur Police Station, Chennai. The Government granting an exgratia compensation of Rs.50,000/- from the Chief Minister Accident Relief Fund, to legal heirs of the accident victims. After the death of her husband, the petitioner had sent several representations to the authorities seeking for compensation. Finally on 16.01.2016, she had sent a representation to the 2nd respondent. Based on the representation, the Sub-Collector, Chenglepet has called for enquiry report from the 6th respondent vide its proceedings dated 21.11.2016, but till date, no compensation has been paid to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

3. I have considered the submissions and perused the records carefully.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and on perusal of the materials available on record, the 2nd respondent District Collector is directed to consider the petitioner's representation seeking for compensation, and pass suitable orders on merits in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
