ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed seeking to punish the respondent for wilful disobedience of the order dated 02.03.2023 passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.5018 of 2023.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, there is no representation for the petitioner either in person or through counsel. 3.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that a case in Crime No.05 of 2021 was registered for the offences punishable under Sections 120B, 420 and 506(I) of IPC. The petitioner had filed Crl.O.P.No.5018 of 2023 before this Court seeking a direction to the respondent to expedite the investigation and file the final report within the stipulated time. This Court, by an order dated 02.03.2023, directed the respondent Police to complete the investigation and file the final report within a period of two months. He further submitted that though there has been some delay on the part of the respondent Police, the investigation has since been completed and upon completion of a detailed investigation, the final report has been filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Namakkal on 02.12.2024 and the same has been taken cognizance as C.C.No.468 of 2024. He also submitted that the delay occurred due to the collection of material evidence and prayed that the respondent Police may be discharged from the contempt proceedings.

Taking into consideration the fact that the final report has been filed and the order of this Court dated 02.03.2023 has been complied with, this Contempt Petition stands closed.
