Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 27.03.2023 under Section 12 of the Tamilnadu Patta Passbook Act 1983 which was delivered in person within a prescribed time frame.

Mr.P.Ganesan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. With consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the stage of admission itself.
2. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the second respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 27.03.2023 under Section 12 of the Tamilnadu Patta Passbook Act 1983 which was delivered in person within a prescribed time frame.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that as against the order passed by the 4th respondent, the petitioner filed an appeal before the 2nd respondent on 27.02.2023 under Section 12 of the Tamilnadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983. Since the same has not been disposed of till date, the petitioner has come forward with this writ petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the 2nd respondent will pass orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner, within the stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.
5. Heard both sides.Perused the records.
6. In view of the limited scope of relief sought for in this writ petition, and also in view of the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side and since the appeal is pending for morethan two and half years without any progress, this Court directs the 3/6
2nd respondent to pass orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 27.03.2023 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and other parties concerned and thereafter communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
7. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. No costs.
