O R D E R
The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to de-freeze the savings account of the petitioner within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that, for the misconduct alleged to have been committed by the petitioner while acting as the Manager (Security) in the respondent bank at Coimbatore Branch, the savings account of the petitioner was frozen by the respondent bank. Though various representations have been given by the petitioner requesting to de-freeze his account, no action has been taken by the respondents so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the main grievance of the petitioner is that, no opportunity was given to him before freezing his bank account in order to put forth his explanation. Though various representations have been made by the petitioner, the respondents have not taken any steps to defreeze the account of the petitioner and therefore, this Court may issue a direction to the respondents to de-freeze the account of the petitioner so as enable him to operate his bank account.
4. Considering the above submissions and in view of the limited relief 2/4
sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without going into the merits of the case, issues a direction to the petitioner to make a appropriate application/representation before the 1st respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Upon receipt of the same, the 1st respondent shall consider the petitioner's application/representation on merits and pass appropriate orders within period of four weeks thereafter, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs. 09.09.2025 Index:Yes/No Internet:Yes Speaking/Non-Speaking order Nhs M.DHANDAPANI, J.
