The petitioner herein was arrested on 07.07.2025 in connection with robbery.

The defacto complainant was lured by one Ali under the pretext of selling a second-hand car. He was asked to come to Krishnagiri with the money. When the defacto complainant went to the place indicated by the said Ali, he was intercepted by a fake policeman and a sum of Rs.11,00,000/- was forcibly taken from him. As the accused attempted to flee from the scene, this petitioner was caught by the defacto complainant, while the others escaped from scene of occurrence. Based on the information provided by this petitioner, the police arrested one more accused by name Mohanraj. However, the prime accused, Ali and his associate are yet to be secured.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police, opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner and submitted that two of the accused are still at large. He further submitted that the amount of Rs.11,00,000/- taken from the defacto complainant has not yet been recovered. If the petitioner is released on bail, there is every possibility that he may abscond. 4.

Considering the objection raised by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 2/4
