ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to finalise the audit paras and settle the same pending in Tirupathur and Vaniyambadi Municipality within a reasonable period as may be fixed by this Court considering the fact that the petitioner is due to retire on 30.06.2026.
2. Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the Respondents.
3. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal today at the admission stage itself.
4. The case of the petitioner is that he is working as a Regional Director of Municipal Administration, Vellore Region. During the period 2018 and 2019, the 1st respondent raised audit objection against the petitioner which is merely a settlement of facts and subject to rectification and not any misappropriation of funds. It is his grievance that the audit paras are not properly settled by the Respondents even after a lapse of seven years. He is due to retire from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 30.06.2026. Hence, he made representations on
09.01.2025, 08.06.2025 and 27.06.2025 to the respondents for early settlement of these Audit Paras. However, the same has not been considered till date. Hence this Writ Petition.
5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the representations of the petitioner would be considered on merits within a time frame to be fixed by this Court
6. Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner 09.01.2025, 08.06.2025 and 27.06.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
