This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent police to file a final report in Crime No.423 of 2021 dated 19.08.2021 within a stipulated time.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. Already, this Court vide order dated 16.06.2022 in Crl.O.P.No.13798 of 2022 had directed the respondents/police herein to file a final report in Crime No.423 of 2021 within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. Since the respondents/police had not complied with the order of this Court dated 16.06.2022, instead of filing the contempt petition, the petitioner has filed this criminal original petition.

4. When the matter was taken up for hearing on 27.11.2024, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that the investigation in Crime No.423 of 2021 is over and they ready to file a charge sheet before the concerned magistrate court.

5. Subsequently, this Court vide order dated 03.12.2024, directed the Superintendent of Police, Cuddalore District to file action taken report as against the respondents 1 and 2 herein for non-compliance of the order of this Court dated 16.06.2022 in Crl.O.P.No.13798 of 2022.

6. Today when the matter is taken up for hearing the respondent police filed the action taken report.

7. In view of the same, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
